Wednesday...

The day when the weekend is in sight and I can take a breath from the demands of school. Small breath granted, but still a breath.

This is the day that I can get on the internet for hours and not feel completely like I wasted the day away.

Public bathrooms.

Why would someone not flush a toilet in a public bathroom? Or leave evidence of their visit on the toilet seat, walls, floor, door handle?



I know that guys have a hard time aiming sometimes (especially when they are young or alcohol is involved or both) but girls really have no excuse.
We sit down (or hover in some cases) for goodness sake!



Why the hell do we feel the necessity to take pictures of ourselves in the bathroom??
I don't want people to know that I just used the facilities (yes, I know that everyone does it and you are not human if you don't but I do not care).

I guess I missed out on those genes that instruct me make duck faces in the public restroom for the whole world to see.

Braces Update...

Anywho!
I am getting used to them but I am still putting wax on some of the super sharp wires trying to dig their way out of my cheek.










I called the Ortho and wanted to have them look at the razor blade part but they were not there and would not be back until Monday.
That sort of pissed me off.
What is the point of having an office open Monday thru Saturday if you don't show up after Wednesday?

So I totally just wasted at least two hours looking at memes.
Meh.

Things that make my Mom leave the room...

When my Dad and I start debating (she calls it going in circles) or when we start having philosophical discussions (she calls it beating a dead horse).

I love my Dad and we always have interesting conversations.
I get my lengthiness (in regards to talking and or overly explaining things) from him. He is usually not a great talker when on the phone but in person he can talk for ages.



He is also funny in his own way and I think it hurts his feelings when other people don't understand or appreciate his humor (I am one of those people at times).
On the other hand, I have been around him so much that his humor is clever but no longer laugh-out-loud funny.



Did some nutrition homework then some math homework....


I think that earned me some internet time... Right?

Typical Friday...

Fridays always seem to be difficult for me as far as a study day goes.
I get to sleep in a little bit but since it is still a week day then I usually have some errands that I want to run.
Those errands tend to take a couple hours for various reasons.
 

My nephew is here (being babysat by my Mom) so I usually get distracted cooing at him throughout the day.
I will get on the internet, watch House on DVD and other distractions.
I am pretty happy with myself if I study anything.

Today I finished reading Chapter 12 (Fungi) and have started reading Chapter 13 (Viruses) in my microbiology book.
I tend to wait to the last minute (not literally) to study or do homework.
Not really sure why, my parents call it laziness, they may be right.



I can't pull an all-nighter (I need sleep) and I usually don't cram two seconds before the test. I love to sit at the desk/table and read a regular book until test time.
It annoys the shit out of people.




Then I have to pretend that I got an average grade (even though I got an A and probably the highest A) because I don't want to seem smug or anything.
I keep to myself.
Which is probably why I don't know anyone... hmm...

I feel like there is a razor blade attached to my tooth and my tongue keeps rubbing against it.
I swear my tongue is not emo or anything either.


Seriously though, this sucks and I really don't want to go back up to the ortho. Its not like I am some 8 year old kid, I'm a freaking adult, I can handle some pain.
Right?

Going to be drinking fruity cocktails with a friend in roughly a week.
Very much looking forward to seeing a familiar face, getting out of the house, and talking all kinds of shit about people we don't like.

Braces: Part 1

Well I got my full set of braces yesterday.
So far they are just annoying and my teeth feel sore.
I will be on a very soft food diet for about a week because it hurts to bite down too hard.
I don't have the rubber bands yet, just a mouth full of metal.
I definitely look like I am 12.

Side note:
I made a 99 on my most recent Nutrition test! Woohoo! Highest grade in the class (I got my teacher to tell me) the next highest was a 95.
I feel good about my grades so far.
I took a Microbiology test on Tuesday but I doubt I will find out the grade until next Tuesday since the teacher grades all of her tests by hand.
I feel pretty good about the grade, I am hoping for a high 80 right now because I don't want to get my hopes up for anything higher.
I prefer to hope for B's that way I will be super excited and happy if I do end up getting A's.




Off to go find some food...

It has Begun...

I just had four spacers placed in my mouth in preparation for braces.

They are a little bit uncomfortable but otherwise not too bad.
The lady who put them in assured me that this was the most painful/uncomfortable part of having braces and that if I could get through this then it would be smooth sailing.

She attempted to use this tool...


But my teeth are very crowded so she ended up having to use floss...


Anywho... I go back in a few days to start the actual braces... Woohoo.
